Michel Durocher aka "Mike The Rock" have been involved into the drift scene since 2005. With his nice white S14 1995, he gave the fans what they wanted ; smoke, angle, showmanship and good techniques. Without any help or sponsors, he made his own way and was racing for the glory.
However Mike didn’t have all the luck he deserved. He got a severe wall accident in Round 3 in 2005 at Ste-Croix, Québec and damaged the whole front end. Funds were low and Mike decided to take the time to rebuilt his car on his own and do it the right way in his own garage.
In 2006, he decided to continue to help drifters but from the pit area. He was doing mechanic for 2 drifters in the Onderground-design drift team and learned so much. But in the mean time, one step at the time, his beast was slowly regaining his original shape.
In 2007, with all the drift practice he got at all Driftthing Night every Sunday with a bunch of friends, he gained more techniques, aggressiveness and skills. He decided to drift the last run of 2007, at the St-Eustache racetrack, in front of thousands of his fans.
After doing the TOP16, he faced Marco Santos in tandem. Unlucky, he didn’t escape from the driftking and didn’t go further. However Mike was one of the top challenger Marco got this year, he putted pressure on him, even with 100 whp less than him. He got real nuts !
Mike will not be back with DMCC in 2008 but full throttle with Driftthing Nights !
